"Kadar oder Deng Xiaoping, und irgendwo dazwischen muss er jonglieren ... Und weil dies so ist, wird er 'ne Bewegung machen, glaube ich. Also, ich bin kein Narr. Ich halte ihn nicht für einen Liberalen. Es gibt genug Narren in der westlichen Welt unter Journalisten und Politikern. Die sagen, die Frau Gorbatschow, das's eine attraktive Frau. Und sie geht nach Paris und kauft ein schönes Kostüm. Das hat damit überhaupt nichts zu tun. Das ist ein moderner kommunistischer Führer. Der war ... eh ..., der war nie in ... eh ... in Kalifornien, nie in Hollywood, aber versteht was von PR. Der Goebbels verstand auch was von PR. Aber (Lachen) man muss doch . . . man muss doch die Dinge auf den Punkt bringen." And since this is the situation with which he is confronted I think he will move in a way. Well, I'm not a fool. I do not consider him to be a liberal. There is a sufficient number of fools in the Western world among politicians and journalists, saying, Mrs Gorbatschow, that's a very attractive lady, shopping in Paris and all ... eh ... dresses and so on. That's got nothing to do with it. This is a modern communist leader. Never been to Californria ... eh ... never in Hollywood, never in California, but he understands something about PR. Goebbels was an expert of public relations."
